The Salmon is a very placid breed taming quickly and are a great bird for children, but we do find that they do get picked on by the lighter breeds because they are so docile
The hens lay their eggs well into the winter months and do become broody easily, making fantastic mothers, the chicks grow fast and strong if fed on a high quality feed and they forage from a very early age.
This breed can suffer with scaly mite so a check on the legs on a regular basis is recommended.
The beautiful colours and the impresive size of the Cock Bird makes this bird a wonderful addition to anybody's poultry collection
